Division: Lower School Reports To: Head of Lower School
Position: • Full-time faculty member • 10-month contract mid-Aug-early June • Salary commensurate with experience
Qualifications: • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university is required; masters preferred • Meets qualifications for licensure in Ohio • Proven ability as an educational leader working with young children; minimum 3 years primary teaching experience preferred • Commitment to the schools virtues mission and professional standards • Clear understanding and evidence of high-quality teaching and learning, including the science of reading • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Comfort with technology and vision for appropriate and purposeful incorporation into the curriculum • Willingness to be a visible and involved participant in and supporter of the school community • Skill and comfort working collaboratively and productively with all constituencies within the school community • Experience collaborating with colleagues around lesson development, classroom management, student assessment, differentiation, etc.
Strong candidates will have experience with: • Evidence-based literacy instruction • Deep understanding of the foundations of mathematics • Authentic integration of supplemental literacy programs • Social Emotional Learning • Demonstrated ability to collect, interpret, and use data • Differentiation • Project-based learning • Leveraging technology purposefully
