Position Overview: Lead Technician in Training (Full-Time) The Lead Technician in Training is an entry-level leadership track role. No prior automotive experience is required—we provide full paid training on technical skills, safety procedures, and floor management. You will learn center operations from the ground up, progressing to supervise floor workflow, conduct final quality/safety checks, train technicians, and step in for management when needed.


Key Responsibilities


  • Technical & Automotive Service Execution:

    • Perform routine preventive maintenance across all vehicle makes/models, including oil changes, brakes, rotors, transmission, differential, cooling systems, and component replacements.

    • Execute hood, pit, and courtesy services: check fluids, belts, hoses, emission components, filters, wiper blades, and battery electrolyte.

    • Safely operate lifts, diagnostic tools, the Echo System, and mechanical hand tools in a brisk, high-volume environment.

  • Floor Leadership & Supervision:

    • Supervise and direct shop technicians to ensure fast, efficient, and accurate service execution.

    • Train and coach technicians across all service levels, educating them on preventive maintenance and proper shop procedures.

    • Coordinate daily bay assignments and maintain quality control throughout the floor.

  • Quality Control & Safety:

    • Perform rigorous final quality and safety audits on all vehicles before release to customers.

    • Enforce safety protocols, PPE usage, proper fluid equipment maintenance, and report hazards or needed repairs to the Center Manager.

  • Customer Relations & Backup Administration:

    • Greet customers professionally, explain services and transparent pricing, and present inspected components (filters, caps).

    • Review work orders and warranties, address guest questions, and resolve minor customer concerns.

    • Handle POS register transactions, credit cards, and customer check-outs when management is unavailable.

  • Facility Maintenance:

    • Maintain clean, organized, and safe service bays, shop floors, grounds, windows, and restrooms, including seasonal snow and ice removal.

Qualifications


  • Skills & Attributes: Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, attention to detail, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn and step into leadership.

  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license (to move customer vehicles); basic reading, writing, and math skills; ability to work in tight vehicle spaces.

  • Experience: No prior experience required (paid training provided); previous automotive, retail, or digital vehicle inspection experience is a plus.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements


  • Exposure to outdoor weather elements, noise, vehicle exhaust, automotive oils, fluids, and lubricants.

  • Requires good vision, hearing, long periods of standing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, and lifting.

Pay & Benefits


  • Pay: Salary based on experience

  • Schedule: Monday to Saturday (Weekend availability required)
