Lead Test Engineer –Testing Enablement Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Lead Test Engineer to support enterprise technology initiatives within a Testing Enablement function. This role will partner closely with program leadership, development teams, and QA resources to drive testing strategy, quality engineering best practices, automation initiatives, and performance testing across large-scale technology programs.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on testing leader and change champion who can improve software quality by embedding testability, automation, and performance engineering into the development lifecycle from the beginning.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and maintain enterprise testing standards, methodologies, and best practices across multiple technology initiatives
  • Partner with Program Managers, Development Leads, Product Owners, and QA teams to provide testing leadership, status reporting, and delivery oversight
  • Develop and evolve comprehensive Testing Strategies including:
    • Test Plans
    • Environment Strategies
    • Code Management Strategies
    • Testing Utilization Plans
  • Identify opportunities for:
    • Test Automation
    • Service Virtualization
    • Performance Engineering
    • Shift-Left / Test-Driven Development practices
  • Collaborate with automation teams to build and maintain automated test suites
  • Support and evaluate Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) and performance metrics
  • Coordinate closely with Environment Management teams to ensure testing environments and infrastructure are prepared ahead of testing cycles
  • Drive defect management activities including defect triage, prioritization, traceability, and coordination with release management teams
  • Monitor and report testing health metrics, project status, risks, and quality indicators to leadership
  • Mentor and coach QA resources and application teams on testing best practices and enterprise standards
  • Manage testing resource allocation, workstream assignments, and project staffing needs
  • Stay current on emerging testing technologies and recommend process/tooling improvements
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams and third-party vendors supporting testing initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience leading enterprise QA/testing initiatives in complex technology environments
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Test Automation
    • Performance Testing
    • QA Methodologies & Frameworks
    • CI/CD Pipelines
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Strong project management and coordination skills
  • Hands-on experience with testing and automation tools such as:
    • Playwright
    • JUnit
    • TestNG
    • TestComplete
    • NeoLoad
    • JMeter
  • Experience with service virtualization and performance engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines is highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of scripting/programming languages such as:
    • TypeScript
    • Java
    • Python
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with flexibility for onsite collaboration and occasional extended hours as needed
Preferred Experience
  • Experience driving Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Shift-Left testing practices
  • Proven track record improving:
    • Defect detection rates
    • Automation coverage
    • Application performance metrics
    • Overall software quality and reliability
