Looking for a Lead TK Teacher for a progressive preschool in the Irvine area. We are only interested in candidates who have a passion for the field and meet all the requirements listed. We're looking for people who have chosen early education as their career, not just a job.

All applicants must have the ability to collaboratively implement an emergent curriculum. Teachers must have experience working with TK/PreK children, be flexible, genuinely resonate with our unique philosophy, and have an eagerness to grow within our school.
Requirements:
- 12 ECE units (B.A. or B.S. Preferred).
- Fluent in English; The ability to speak Mandarin &/or Spanish is a plus!
- Qualify for the Master Teacher Permit or B.A. in Child Development or equivalent.
- Must possess strong skills in: organization, professionalism, reading, time management, planning, oral and written communication, interpersonal relationships, family/child relations, and basic computer use.
- At least two years of experience working in a classroom and working with a team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead classroom routines and curriculum implementation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Support toileting and hygiene needs.
- Observe children’s development and share documentation with the teaching team.
- Contribute to conferences, child portfolios, and monthly family communication.
- Model respectful, reflective interactions with children at all times.
- Foster positive peer interactions and support independent conflict resolution.
- Communicate professionally with families.
- Uphold Piper’s community values and positive school culture.
Expectations:
- Lead with positivity and professionalism.
- Check email daily and communicate clearly with staff and Administration.
- Remain actively engaged with children—never leaving a child unsupervised.
- Follow all Piper policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and move up to 20–50 lbs (35 lbs for toddler classrooms).
- Bend, crouch, sit, stand, and move throughout the day.
- Work indoors and outdoors and respond quickly in emergency situations.
Compensation: Salary is based on experience, education, and position.
Hourly rate: $54,000 - $58,000 Annually. Medical, dental, and vision benefits. 401K. Paid holidays.
