The Learning Experience of Astoria is looking for a passionate, nurturing, and qualified Lead Toddler Teacher to join our team.

What You'll Do


As our Lead Toddler Teacher, you will take ownership of your classroom while working alongside a supportive school leadership team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating a warm, welcoming, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore
  
  
• Planning and implementing hands-on, play-based, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
  
  
• Supporting children's growth across all developmental areas, including social-emotional, language, cognitive, physical, and creative development
  
  
• Helping toddlers build independence through daily routines, self-help skills, positive interactions, and age-appropriate responsibilities
  
  
• Establishing consistent classroom routines and expectations that help children feel confident and secure
  
  
• Observing children's development and maintaining required classroom documentation and records
  
  
• Building strong, professional relationships with families and keeping them connected to their child's learning, development, and classroom experience
  
  
• Collaborating with fellow teachers, support staff, and school leadership
  
  
• Maintaining a safe, organized, clean, and engaging classroom environment
  
  
• Bringing creativity, enthusiasm, patience, and positivity into the classroom each day
  
  

What We're Looking For


Required:

• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
  
  
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed daycare, preschool, or childcare center
  
  
• Strong understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices
  
  
• Ability to develop engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and learning experiences
  
  
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
  
  
• Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and applicable state compliance requirements
  
  
• A genuine passion for working with toddlers and supporting their growth and development
  
  

Preferred:

• Previous experience as a Lead Toddler Teacher or in a similar classroom leadership role
  
  
• Experience planning and implementing early childhood curriculum
  
  
• Familiarity with developmental observations, assessments, and classroom documentation
  
  
• Additional early childhood education credentials or certifications
  
  

Compensation


$19.00–$22.00 per hour


Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, qualifications, credentials, and relevant early childhood experience.
