Essential Functions
Able to fully operate all Trim shop machines.
Fulfill all requirements of the job descriptions for those machines
Directs work at their assigned station for the day
Ensure the station has all supplies needed and is prepared
Train new operators and helpers
Assist Foreman or Supervisor with meal and break scheduling
Completes training by supervisor.
Complies with all safety and company policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions and SOPs.
Ability to work in a timely manner to achieve production schedule.
Read and understand production documents I.e. SOPs, job instructions and tasks.
Proven ability to operate machinery safely.
Adaptability and Problem-Solving skills.
Ability to overcome Production disruptions.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
Preferred experience working in a fast-paced factory/manufacturing team environment, with sheet metal experience a plus
Good communication skills, fluently in English verbal and written
PC literate (Word, Excel)
Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring equipment I.e. tape measure
Must have basic arithmetic in US and metric systems
Proactive approach to safety, meeting demanding production deadlines, housekeeping, waste reduction etc.
Must have the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations, and company policies.
Must have the physical and mental ability to drive a forklift effectively and safely. AWIP will certify.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work approx. 8 hour per day, Monday-Saturday, with ability to work overtime up to 12 hours per day as well as some Sundays as needed. Hours and shifts depend on season and shipping schedule, and shifts are not guaranteed.
Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods. Must be able to bend, lift, twist, reach, grasp, and other physical movements.
Ability to occasionally work in a non-climate controlled environment with extreme temperatures and humidity, with some outdoor exposure when needed.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to effectively use telephone equipment, office equipment and machines, a computer, and have intermediate proficiency in MS Office and email.
Must be able to use tools, equipment, machinery, etc.
Must be reliable and dependable
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise environments, chemicals used in the process, and extreme temperatures. The facility is an industrial manufacturing plant.
This position is designated safety sensitive.
