    Lead Trimmer

    Department: Cultivation

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    Work Status: Full-Time

    Reports To: Post-Harvest Manage

    Supervisory Responsibilities None.

    The Lead Trimmer serves as a functional lead within post-harvest operations and is responsible for providing work guidance and coordination to Trimmers. This position does not include authority for hiring, disciplinary action, scheduling, or performance management.

    Organizational Cultivation Reporting Line:

    Trimmer > Lead Trimmer > Post-Harvest Supervisor > Post-Harvest Manager > Senior Director of Cultivation

    Position Summary

    The Lead Trimmer supports post-harvest operations by coordinating daily trimming, drying, and curing activities while maintaining quality, efficiency, sanitation, and regulatory compliance. This role serves as a functional lead on the production floor, assisting the Post-Harvest Supervisor with workflow coordination, production tracking, and compliance support, while ensuring trimming standards and operational expectations are met.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support post-harvest operations through safe and efficient execution of assigned processing tasks and operational strategies
    • Serve as a functional lead during trimming, drying, and curing activities, providing guidance and support to Trimmers as needed.
    • Assist with daily workflow coordination to support department production goals and efficiency targets.
    • Communicate obstacles or observed conditions that may impact quality, compliance, or productivity to the Post-Harvest Supervisor.
    • Maintain accurate daily and monthly logs and reports required for compliance and internal tracking.
    • Communicate daily output, including processed plant counts, trim weights, and waste totals.
    • Assist in dividing harvest batches into lots and entering required data into state-mandated and internal inventory control systems.
    • Execute Dry and Final Trim sessions, ensuring all lots are correctly weighed, tracked, and entered into required systems.
    • Ensure finished product is transferred to the appropriate curing method and that all required data is entered accurately.
    • Ensure batch-specific waste is collected, weighed, tracked, and disposed of in accordance with company waste disposal policies and procedures.
    • Support proper curing procedures and operation of drying rooms.
    • Assist with sanitization, organization, and proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
    • Ensure post-harvest rooms, equipment, and surrounding work areas are properly cleaned and secured at the end of each shift.
    • Follow all departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training requirements.
    • Complete required METRC training and accurately perform and support METRC-related tasks associated with post-harvest processing, inventory, and waste tracking, in accordance with state regulations and company procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Schedule and Work Hours

    Flexible schedule based on operational needs, including potential overtime, weekends, or shift coverage as required.

    Compliance and Continuing Eligibility

    Employment is contingent upon ongoing compliance with company policies, cultivation regulations, METRC requirements, and maintenance of all required licenses and work authorizations, including completion of required METRC awareness training and adherence to all METRC-related policies.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Must successfully complete all required background checks.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Marijuana Establishment Agent Registration Card.
    • Previous trimming, post-harvest, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and understanding of quality, sanitation, and compliance standards.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Comfort working with inventory control and compliance tracking systems.

    Equivalent combinations of experience, training, and education will be considered. Emphasis is placed on demonstrated skill, reliability, and the ability to perform the essential functions of the role.

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements

    Post-harvest cultivation environment where cannabis products are present. Employees in this position will be directly exposed to harvested cannabis plants and cannabis products as part of normal job duties. Must be able to tolerate handling and strong odors of cannabis throughout the workday. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, twisting, repetitive motions, and fine motor use. Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 40 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance).
