Toddler Lead Teacher (2-Year-Old Classroom)
Location: The Learning Experience – Ledgewood, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Pay: $18 per hour
The Learning Experience – Ledgewood is seeking an experienced Toddler Lead Teacher to lead our 2-year-old classroom. This role is ideal for an early childhood educator who enjoys creating a structured, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports toddlers as they grow in independence, communication, and social skills.
Our center uses a consistent, play-based approach that helps children feel secure while exploring and learning through daily routines and hands-on experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a 2-year-old classroom in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate setting
- Implement The Learning Experience L.E.A.P. Curriculum through engaging, age-appropriate activities
- Support daily routines including potty training, meals, rest time, and transitions
- Mentor and guide assistant teachers to maintain classroom consistency and quality
- Observe, document, and support children’s developmental progress
- Build strong partnerships with families through daily communication
- Maintain compliance with NJ DCF licensing requirements and center policies
Qualifications:
- CDA credential preferred
- Minimum 6 months classroom experience with toddlers or preschool-aged children (1+ year preferred)
- Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
- CPR and First Aid preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to meet all New Jersey childcare licensing and background requirements
