Are you an experienced water treatment professional looking for an exciting opportunity in Fort Lauderdale, Florida? We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in the operation and maintenance of the Fiveash Water Treatment Plant. This is a temporary full-time position with a competitive fixed and firm price contract for up to three years, ensuring the continued provision of potable water to our community.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead and train operational and maintenance staff to enhance efficiency and performance.
• Monitor, control, and troubleshoot water treatment facilities operations.
• Submit draft revisions to procedures to incorporate regulatory changes, new chemicals, and equipment.
• Maintain records of personnel, conditions, changes, and emergencies.
• Perform lab tests and make chemical adjustments as needed.
• Inspect chemical rooms and process areas for abnormalities.
• Manage chemical inventory and documentation.
• Test and adjust plant emergency generator and auxiliary equipment.
• Assist contractors and consultants with specific tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
• Stay updated on regulatory documents and recommend changes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent, with six months or more of additional training.
• Three to five years of experience in water treatment plant operations.
• Current State of Florida Class "B" Water Operator's license or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems.

Preferences

• Completion of coursework at an accredited college or university in a job-related field.

Work schedules are anticipated to include fixed shifts, rotating shifts, and potential weekend, holiday, or on-call assignments. Operators will work on three schedules: 7am–3pm, 3pm–11pm, and 11pm–7am.
