GENERAL FUNCTION: Directs the activities of a group or team of shop employees involved in a specific production, repair or material handling process in order to meet Company quality and safety standards within production schedules, in the most cost effective manner. Supervises hourly craft employees. Works under the general directions of a foreman, superintendent or other plant management position.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:

Line up hourly workers on daily assignments.

Completes time cards of hourly workers on a daily basis.

Monitor job activity of hourly workers; answering questions, giving guidance and resolving problems.

Assist plant management in determining work procedures, equipment and supplies needed and manpower requirements to complete assignments per production drawing.

Selects, supervises, instructs and schedules employees.

Monitors work processes and products to ensure quality, safety and cost containment standards are maintained.

Ensures Company equipment is properly handled, maintained and secured.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:5 years of supervisor experience. Knowledge of plant operations with particular emphasis on techniques and equipment for area involved. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or work objectives. Ability to effectively plan work procedures, equipment, material and manpower needs. Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group and to perform as a member of a management team. Ability to effectively communicate.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: H.S. diploma or GED and or extensive experience in the craft they will supervise or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
