    Employment Type: Full-Time

    Job Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled Leak Detector Technician to ensure the integrity of welded metal chambers used in space simulation environments for satellite testing. This position plays a critical role in maintaining ultra-high vacuum (UHV) standards and ensuring all chambers meet stringent aerospace specifications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform leak testing on welded metal vacuum chambers using helium mass spectrometry, pressure decay, and other advanced methods.

    • Inspect welds for porosity, cracks, and other defects that could compromise vacuum integrity.

    • Collaborate with welders, engineers, and cleanroom technicians to ensure compliance with aerospace-grade fabrication standards.

    • Interpret technical drawings, vacuum system schematics, and fabrication specifications.

    • Document all test procedures, results, and corrective actions in accordance with ISO and AS9100 standards.

    • Maintain and calibrate leak detection equipment for accuracy and reliability.

    • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives related to weld quality and chamber performance.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding inspection or NDT (non-destructive testing) preferred.

    • Minimum 7 years of experience in leak testing for vacuum systems, preferably in aerospace or high-tech manufacturing.

    • Proficiency with helium leak detectors and vacuum system diagnostics.

    • Familiarity with TIG welding and materials such as stainless steel and aluminum used in UHV environments.

    • Ability to work in cleanroom conditions and follow contamination control protocols.

    • Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (e.g., ASNT Level II in Leak Testing or Visual Inspection).

    • Experience with space simulation chambers, thermal vacuum testing, or satellite environmental testing.

    • Knowledge of ASME, AWS D17.1, and NASA-STD welding and inspection standards.

    • Understanding of vacuum physics and chamber fabrication processes.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and components.

    • Comfortable working in confined spaces and wearing PPE for extended periods.

    • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed inspections.
