    Lean Practitioner Manager (Process Improvement)

    Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking a Lean Practitioner Manager(Process Improvement) to join the IRCSC-One BPS & Lean Team located in North Charleston, South Carolina on Variable shift.

    Manage employees performing Program improvement and problem-solving strategies for production system, supplier system, and so forth. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Assists and Instructs others in continuous improvement tools and principles

    • Assists in formatting updated training materials

    • Leads and facilitates (Lean tool certified) process improvement efforts

    • Supports advanced continuous improvement tool application

    • Participates in strategy development

    • Develops and coaches Leaders that are Appling continuous improvement tools and principles

    • Comfortable working directly with Directors, Senior Managers and First Line Leaders and contribute to Director level strategies

    • Coaches others on BPS Training facilitation

    • Supports MBU Kamishibai

    • Supports 5S Activities

    • Supports One BPS Transformation Assessments

    • Leads Value Stream Mapping

    • Leads BPSM and RSPS

    Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment:

    To be considered for this position, you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or manufacturing environment

    • 5+ years of experience using LEAN Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace

    • 5+ years of experience working in cross-functional teams

    • 5+ years of experience in a role which required strong interpersonal and communication skills

    • 5+ years of experience using strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership'

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor degree in engineering discipline

    • 5+ years in related work experience

    • Experience driving business transformation and/or lean adoption in a manufacturing

    • Lean Six Sigma Certification

    • 5+ years of experience implementing lean principles

    • 5+ years of experience teaching Lean+ tools and concepts

    • 5+ years of experience working with the Boeing Problem Solving Model

    Shift: 

    This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be assigned a shift at the time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on your assigned work shift until a re-evaluation is required. Shifts assigned for training may differ from your permanent work shift.
