Primary Purpose:

To provide a positive learning environment for children where they can develop emotionally, socially, and mentally.

Qualifications: Education/Certification:

High School graduate or GED

At least 21 years of age

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work well with children

Creative, enjoys working with children

Experience:

Prefer experience working with preschool children or enrollment in an educational degree program.

Such other alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration might find appropriate and acceptable.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate music activities for preschool
• Prepare and follow through with daily lessons based on weekly themes.
• Planned activities will encompass all areas of development.
• Use positive guidance techniques to guide children''s behavior.
• Always remain with the children.
• Teach and enforce safety rules.
• Communicate with the director regarding troublesome child behaviors.
• Take head counts on an on-going basis.
• Follow school procedures to safeguard the health and safety of children.
• Become knowledgeable about emergency procedures.
• Perform duties as the superintendent may assign.
• Develop and rehearse for annual music program
• Lead the music performance in the Spring of each school year

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Customer Care Skills: Mental Demands/Physical Demands:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions and an ability to communicate effectively; maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical demands:

Moderate standing, stooping, bending, lifting. Any special requirements

working with young children. Sitting on the floor to do some of the instruments and jumping around in some of the songs too.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

The Learn ''N Play Music Teacher works 2.5-3.5 hours per day based on the schedule given to LNPD from our current campus for specials. This is over a 10-month period.

EVALUATION:

Evaluation of job performance is a continuous process designed to improve the quality of work performed. Performance evaluation will be conducted by current director on a bi-annual basis.

Salary: Pay Grade IS03,$17.88 - $21.10 hourly rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule. Days: 181
