Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning and Development Assistant, Vocational Learning (Assessor) based at Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours:
36.00 hours per week.
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence:
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What you will do:
You will work directly with the Learning and Development Advisor - Vocational Learning in providing advice and guidance on Vocational Qualifications to line and service managers and will undertake workplace assessments, providing learning support and guidance to candidates undertaking an SVQ/MAs in Business & Administration and Learning & Development at SCQF Levels 6 and 7. You will also work closely with the Business Support Manager in supporting the operational requirements of the training and education centres.

You will be an enthusiastic, flexible team player who has a working knowledge and understanding of business and administration procedures and guidelines including SVQ/MA delivery with excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
