Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director, the Learning Coach supports students by providing intervention support for foundational math, reading, and writing skills. The Learning Coach will develop lesson plans and provide direct instruction for intervention. In addition, the Learning Coach will provide data for MTSS meetings and communicate with teachers and staff regarding progress or further interventions needed. The Learning Coach is responsible for using evidence-based strategies and curricula.

This position is for Gilbert Elementary School. The Buena Park School District reserves the right to CLOSE this position after 100 applications. QUALIFICATIONS This position offers an opportunity to work with certificated staff to enhance classroom-based educational instruction and interventions. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and collaborative professional who can facilitate reflection and excellence in educational practice and pedagogy for the benefit of all students and staff. Candidates must have: • A valid California credential authorizing service as a teacher in a TK-8 school district, with appropriate authorization for instructing English Learners. This position supports the Spanish Dual Immersion Program at Gilbert School. A valid Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD or equivalent) authorizing instruction in Spanish is required. • Five years of appropriate teaching experience in the regular education program. • Experience participating in instructional or intervention planning, such as steering committees, MTSS team, reading or math intervention, etc. • An earned master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university in education, curriculum and instruction, or a closely related field, is preferred.
