Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Learning & Development Advisor (Training & Competency) to manage competency and training activities while ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with company and legislative requirements. This role is responsible for maintaining the organization's Competency System, monitoring the effectiveness of training programs, and providing logistical and administrative support for training operations. The position also analyzes competency data, communicates findings to management, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support employee development and business objectives.

 

Job Description

  • Manage and administer competency activities, including staff communication, liaison with internal and external personnel, software control, and accurate record keeping
  • Ensure competency records are created and maintained in accordance with legislative requirements
  • Review and update competency materials in line with business needs
  • Maintain and develop the organization's Competency System
  • Monitor deadlines and phases of the Competency System
  • Act as an Assessor and/or Verifier
  • Monitor, record, and analyze the effectiveness of competency training programs.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for all trainers
  • Manage training operations and development
  • Liaise with customers and internal company departments to define and arrange training requirements and schedules
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently enforced and followed
  • Continually evaluate processes and methods to ensure the effective use of resources and equipment
  • Provide daily supervision of employee job execution, including training, performance evaluation, and employee relations
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

 

Skills Required

  • Professional work experience in competency, training, or employee development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and coach or explain findings to management
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to learn new technologies and data processing systems
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Learning Management Software (LMS)
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and support team collaboration
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Education/Training/Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to pass drug screen & criminal background checks
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Must report on-site). No overtime
  • Travel: Domestic Travel (CA, TX, LA) may be required based on business demand


Pay Rate/Salary

  • $28.00/hr. - $32.00/hr. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors
