    Description

    At NorthBay Healthcare the Learning Support Specialist is a member of the HR Learning and Leadership Development Team, provides systems and administrative support to the organization's training and competency processes. Collaborates with subject matter experts to produce, deliver, and evaluate orientation and training. Assists with research, implementation, tracking, reporting, and analysis of workforce training and competency processes. Employs process improvement tactics and provides learning resources to employees to improve business outcomes. Promotes high learner satisfaction with services provided.

    Compensation Structure

    NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

    NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs.

    • Education: Baccalaureate degree required, preferably in Organizational Development, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources, Education, or related field required.
    • Experience:
    • Two years of systems and administrative support experience required, demonstrating proficiency with databases. This requirement may be satisfied through relevant baccalaureate coursework or relevant HR work experience or equivalent.
    • Proficient in creating spreadsheets, database report-writing and system administration, desktop publishing, HTML experience strongly preferred.
    • Two years of demonstrated proficiency in delivering relevant instructor-led training and orientation, including the use of a learning management system required. This requirement may be shortened through demonstrated proficiency using NorthBay's Talent Management Suite.
    • Work experience in HR, OD, project management, adult education strongly preferred.
    • Experience with research and analysis required. This requirement may be satisfied through relevant baccalaureate or graduate level coursework.
    • Work experience in health care settings preferred.
    • Skills:
    • Must demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy in busy work environments. Strong keying, formatting, writing, and editing skills essential.
    • Strong questioning skills, ability to deliver value-added customer service through multiple mediums (in-person, handwritten, phone, electronic) essential.
    • Proficiency in database system administration - beyond user skills - required. Website maintenance skills strongly preferred.
    • MS Office: Advanced proficiency in word processing required. Intermediate proficiency in spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications required to support project work.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, Joint Commission accreditation standards, performance improvement strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design preferred.
    • Must demonstrate the highest discipline re: confidentiality.
    • As noted above, enjoys effective relationships with the organization's training stakeholders across all business lines.
    • As noted above, demonstrates habituated familiarity with Learning Support Specialist workflows, the organizational chart, department and job codes,
    • Requires a high level of comfort with taking initiative and being accountable for team work and service excellence.
    • Must be able to work independently, collaboratively and with minimal supervision.
    • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Ability to build positive relationships with others to effect work essential.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and respectful manner to customers and co-workers.
    • Capacity to maintain clear thinking, composure, and respect for others under stressful or unpredictable working conditions.
