The Learning & Workforce Development Manager is responsible for developing and leading the company's enterprise-wide training and workforce development strategy to support continued growth, operational excellence, leadership development, and organizational capability. This leader will design and implement a structured training framework that supports all areas of the business, including manufacturing operations, safety, leadership, business processes, technical skills, quality systems, onboarding, and professional development. The position will establish training pathways, development programs, certification processes, and competency frameworks that ensure coworkers at all levels possess the skills and knowledge required to support the company's growth objectives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for coaching, teaching, and supervision of assigned personnel.
  • Responsible for effective employee relations. Initiates and is proactive with employee coaching and development. Resolves employee issues by identifying problems and resolutions.
  • Responsible for the performance management (hiring, development, discipline, termination) of direct reports.
  • Develop and execute a company-wide learning and workforce development strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Build the training infrastructure necessary to support organizational growth and increased operational complexity.
  • Assess organizational capability gaps and develop solutions to address current and future workforce needs.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to identify critical competencies required for future growth.
  • Design and oversee structured training programs across all major business functions.
  • Establish training pathways and certification programs for key roles throughout the organization.
  • Develop standardized approaches for onboarding, technical training, leadership development, and professional skills development.
  • Create systems to ensure consistent training quality and access across departments, shifts, and locations.
  • Provide oversight and direction for manufacturing skills development programs.
  • Collaborate with other leaders throughout the organization to ensure employees are trained to perform at the highest levels.
  • Establish training standards for production, maintenance, quality systems, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Support workforce readiness for new technologies, equipment, processes, and facility expansion.
  • Design and implement leadership development programs for leadership at all levels in the organization.
  • Partner with Human Resources to create succession development and high-potential employee programs.
  • Support the development of leadership competencies throughout the organization.
  • Provide coaching and development resources for leaders at all levels in the organization.
  • Build, coordinate, guide and support a network of internal trainers and subject matter experts.
  • Establish train-the-trainer programs and instructor standards.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage external training providers, consultants, and educational partners.
  • Determine when outside expertise is required and ensure resources deliver measurable value.
  • Maintain awareness of industry's best practices and workforce development trends.
  • Establish processes for tracking training completion, competency attainment, certifications, and development progress.
  • Develop meaningful metrics that measure training effectiveness and business impact.
  • Ensure learning investments contribute to operational performance, employee growth, retention, safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
  • Manage training budgets and resource allocation.
  • Manages external state funded programs to ensure funds are utilized in full and in a manner that best supports the organization holistically.
  • Travel to other organizational locations including international travel could be up to 15% as required by the training and development programs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Regular, in-person attendance due to the necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of the position.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Manage and prioritize multiple training and development programs in parallel in a time sensitive environment.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Education, or related field required.
  • A minimum of (10) years of progressive experience in learning and development, workforce development, organizational development, training leadership, or related disciplines strongly desired.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, engineering, operations, or similarly complex environments strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated success building scalable training systems and development programs.
  • Experience developing leadership and workforce capability programs.

Base Compensation Range: $102,568 - $166,507 annually

Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 12% of gross annual salary base on company performance.

Professional office environment with some time spent in a manufacturing shop. Use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets, etc.). Frequent presence on the manufacturing floor as well as field operations. Exposure to conditions, such as: dust, fumes, noise and high-degree varying seasonal temperatures.
