    Job Description

    The One Medical (OM) PXT team is looking for a dynamic, organized, and self-started team member to join our Human Resources (HR) team.

    Part of the Amazon One Medical People Experience Team, the HR Operations team is seeking a highly motivated Disability & Leave Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, HR Operations, the Disability & Leave Specialist will interface with employees and our outsourced leave & disability vendor to answer questions, serve as the internal point of contact, and escalation resource throughout an employee"s leave of absence. This role provides exceptional customer service whilst balancing compliance and policy considerations in support and coordination with employees, managers, HR Business Partners, Benefits, Payroll and One Medical"s external leave of absence partner.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Initiate and respond to inquiries about leave and/or accommodation events, benefits, and options available to employees through email and ticketing channels.
    • Serve as the internal point of contact for employees, managers and internal stakeholders to answer questions on leave processes, policies as well as federal and state leave entitlements as defined by One Medical and as defined by law.
    • Serve as an escalation point between One Medical and our external vendor to ensure that leave cases are managed correctly and pursuant to defined service levels.
    • Ensure that Workday is updated with leave dates, respond to wage requests from our external vendor and/or state agencies
    • Address and respond to sensitive situations with empathy.
    • Troubleshoot issues and seek to remove barriers before, during, or after a leave event.
    • Review and calculate parental leave pay in accordance with One Medical"s parental leave policy.
    • Respond to employee impacting issues that may arise during the leave event and ensure the right communication occurs.
    • Identify and solve problems that may arise, sometimes with limited information.
    • Educate managers and business partners on employee concerns and needs prior to being off or returning back to work.
    • Communicate regular updates to employees and stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
    • Ensure compliance with standard work, federal/state regulations, and company policy.
    • Maintain system records to ensure accurate and timely information/documentation.
    • Consult, coordinate and partner with our third party administrator, HR, Safety, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, team members and other departments/systems as appropriate.
    • Other duties as assigned.
