Title: Leave Replacement for Bilingual and ESL Teacher
Job Description: Kindergarten Bilingual Ed/ ESL instruction for multilingual students of varying English Language proficiency levels.
- Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and WIDA English Language Development Standards.
- Design and implement engaging lessons that integrate language and content objectives to develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Apply research-based practices in bilingual education, second language acquisition, literacy, and numeracy to support multilingual learners.
- Differentiate instruction, scaffolds, and assessments to meet the academic, linguistic, and developmental needs of students with varying levels of English proficiency.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress, guide instruction, maintain accurate records, and communicate student growth.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, culturally responsive, and well-organized classroom that supports students' academic, social-emotional, and language development.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, technology, and resources to engage diverse learners and promote student independence.
- Collaborate with families, colleagues, administrators, and support staff to promote student achievement and provide appropriate interventions.
- Supervise and provide direction to paraprofessionals to ensure effective classroom support and student success.
Qualifications:
- New Jersey Teacher of Elementary School, Bilingual/Bicultural, and ESL certification required
- Experience teaching Bilingual Education or ESL preferred
