The Position
Candidates should have experience working in a special education classroom, or with in-class resource support and behavior modification experience. He/she should desire to work cooperatively with academic teachers within a team concept.
QUALIFICATIONS
NJ Teacher of the Handicapped OR Teacher of Students with Disabilities and the appropriate teaching endorsement certification required.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
Teaching experience with special needs students preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.
Starting Salary Range:
Bachelor's Degree: $70,000 - 100,315
Master's Degree: $77,450 - $109,865
Master's + 30 Credits: $81,565 - $115,450
Doctorate: $84,565 - $118,450

JOB GOAL(S)
To provide instructional leadership in the classroom in accordance with the course of study approved by the Board of Education approved curriculum.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Implements instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.2.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.4.Employs instructional methods and available materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
