Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach courses such as Computer Modeling Languages, Information Systems, Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, and Project-based AIML modeling. The teaching load will be 9-15 contact hours per semester during the school year. Candidates will be expected to supervise student capstone projects, collaborate with the AIML Center, and provide computational, analytical, and AIML technology support for faculty research and scholarship as needed. The candidate will also perform other collateral duties as assigned. The position is not eligible for telework or remote work. Over the summer, the selectee may be called on to assist with curating and delivering faculty development opportunities in the fields of AIML and Data Analytics, or curriculum development in these areas of study.

Minimum Qualifications

A Masters degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 5 years of undergraduate-level teaching, either as an instructor or as a teaching assistant. • PhD in Data Analytics or AIML model developer experience. • 5-10 years of Industry or Higher Education experience managing successful research agendas in the field of AIML or Data Science. • A strong record of interdisciplinary engagement and project management. • Strong record of industry, government, and higher education partnerships focused on technology development and advancement. • Exceptional teamwork skills, the ability to demonstrate initiative, and the ability to be adaptable in the context of a student-centered institution. • Interpersonal teaching and effective written and oral communications skills. • A strong record of scholarship and publication in related fields. • Understanding of and adherence to Core Values of the United States Coast Guard.
