Job Summary

The Department of English at Columbus Stale University is seeking qualified applicants to apply for the position of Full-time Lecturer in English. This is a full-time position with a 10-month renewable contract and a teaching load of five courses per semester in the Department of English in the College of Letters and Sciences. The successful applicant will teach courses in the First-Year Composition sequence, serve on the First-Year Composition Committee, and contribute to as well as receive regular Professional Development in pedagogy and college writing instruction.; Start Date: August 2026

Responsibilities

Significant Duties & Responsibilities include: Teach courses in First-Year Composition or other subjects in-person and online according to departmental needs.; Serve on the First-Year Composition Committee.; Participate in Professional Development in college writing instruction and pedagogy.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications include: A Master of Arts in English or a closely related field is required as well as a record of effective university teaching, with experience teaching first-year composition courses.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications include: Teaching experience: training in English Composition theories and pedagogies; training or experience in basic writing instruction; and/or experience in multimodal composing and teaching writing with digital technologies.

Proposed Salary

The proposed annualized salary range for this position is $47,000 - $55,000 and includes full benefits.
