Summary of Position Teaches a wide range of mathematics and statistics courses, which may include but not limited to elementary, intermediate, and general education level undergraduate statistics, college algebra, quantitative reasoning, trigonometry, and other mathematics and statistics courses. Participates in Department, College and University service activities, community engagement, and outreach. Develops and delivers face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction in mathematics and statistics. Coordinates co-requisite and/or service courses in the Department and works with faculty and staff on initiatives to improve student success in mathematics and statistics courses.

Position Information Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days. Work primarily performed at Steubenville location.

Qualifications and Competencies Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree in mathematics and masters or higher degree in mathematics or related field by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.
  • Demonstrates ability to teach a wide range of courses in statistics and mathematics.
  • Experience teaching statistics courses.
  • Knowledge of WebAssign, MyLabsPlus/MyMathLab and Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS).
