    Other Conditions: For placement in lecturer pool for AY 2026-2027. Contingent upon student enrollment, position availability, course offerings, departmental need, and funding. Lecturer positions are part-time, non-tenure. Lecturers are required to reside in and teach from Hawaii.

    Duties and Responsibilities: To teach one or more courses within a range of topics that include, depending on the qualifications of lecturers:

    • NREM 203 - Applied Calculus for Management, Life Sciences, and Human Resources
    • NREM 220 - Agricultural and Resource Economics
    • NREM 301 - Natural Resources Management
    • NREM 302 - Natural Resource and Environmental Policy
    • NREM 304/L - Fundamentals of Soil Science/Laboratory
    • NREM 310 - Statistics in Agriculture and Human Resources
    • NREM 477 - Geographic Information Systems for Resource Managers
    • NREM 492 - Internship Experience
    • NREM 494 - Environmental Problem Solving

    Responsible for conducting all scheduled classes; meeting course requirements as established by the department/program, preparing course syllabus, setting exams and homework, grading, maintaining weekly office hours and being accessible to students.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • M.S. degree in agriculture, natural resources or environmental management or related field from an accredited university/institution by time of appointment.
    • Demonstrated ability to teach college-level face-to-face lecture and laboratory courses.
    • Working knowledge of natural resources or environmental management.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.

    Desirable Qualifications

    • Ph.D. or doctoral degree in agriculture, natural resources or environmental management or related field from an accredited university/institution.
    • Success teaching large-enrollment sections and supervising GTAs/labs.
    • Demonstrated hands-on training innovations (e.g. data analysis, GIS, remote sensing).
    • Experience coordinating internships and industry partnerships; experience advising student clubs.
