Summary of Position

Teach certificate courses in oil and gas operations with emphasis on well plugging and abandonment, field practices, and safety. This role is structured to contribute directly to workforce education within the industry. Faculty members are expected to maintain a consistent, in-person presence on location throughout the standard workweek. This includes being available on-site each day to support students, collaborate with colleagues, and participate fully in the academic life of the institution. Regular on-site engagement during normal business hours is an essential component of this role.

Position Information

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None

Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications: An earned bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field; at least 5 years of industry experience in oil/gas well operations, workover/completions, plugging and abandonment.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching or training experience. Industry certifications (e.g., safety, well control, H2S). Experience in Appalachian Basin operations.

Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.

Sedentary: work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
