Summary of Position
Supports the respiratory care program's effectiveness, continuous improvement, accreditation and assessment processes, and ensures compliance with accreditation standards. Coordinates student clinical experiences, fostering learning, engagement, and professional development to prepare graduates for success in the respiratory care field. May serve as Director of Clinical Education (DCE) and travel to clinical sites as needed. Participates in service and engagement activities that support the program, department, college, and university. Faculty members are expected to maintain a consistent, in-person presence on location throughout the standard work week.

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.
Primary Location: Youngstown. Some travel to Steubenville may be required, as well as clinical sites.
Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials; valid driver's license.
Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelor's degree in respiratory care or a health-related field; three or more years of clinical experience in respiratory care; and a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in education or a health-related field. One year of experience as an instructor in a respiratory care program. Experience in accreditation requirements, curriculum development, supervision, instruction, and evaluation.
Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform light work.
Light: work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, requiring: (1) walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight or the materials is negligible. (The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.)
