Job Summary

The School of Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences seeks applicants for a ten-month (academic) non-tenure track faculty position beginning August 1, 2026. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidates area of expertise and providing service at the school, college, and university levels. The position offers opportunities to collaborate with supportive colleagues, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in service and scholarship activities that advance the mission of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences provides programs of study at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Bachelor of Science degree is granted in Health Sciences and Nursing. The graduate degrees include the Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). A minor in Nutrition is also provided. The Nursing programs are accredited by the CCNE.

Responsibilities

Department Summary

Position is responsible for teaching up to 15 credit hours per semester and providing service to the school, college, and university levels. Teaching responsibilities may include engaging undergraduate nursing students through clinical experiences, simulation-based learning, and/or classroom instruction. Faculty are encouraged to bring creativity, mentorship, and evidence-based strategies to foster student growth and professional readiness.

Typical Allocation of Duties:

• Teaching and Service - 100% • Teaches classes and meets assigned service obligations.

Required Qualifications

Masters in nursing from an accredited university/college Unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Georgia Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning

Preferred Qualifications

• Record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicants career stage • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting • Record of mentoring students • Experience in mental health nursing

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with experience.
