Summary of Position

Teach courses in the Elementary Education/Special Education (EARLY/SPED) dual program. Provide in-depth knowledge of elementary education and/or special education, with an emphasis on math and language arts. Facilitate engaging and interactive classroom experiences and foster a dynamic learning environment. Collaborate with faculty members to enhance the curriculum and align it with industry best practices. Stays abreast of current trends and developments in elementary education and special education to continually enhance instructional approaches. Provide timely feedback, assessment, and support to students, promoting their academic and professional growth.

Position Information

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Active teaching license.

Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications: At least an earned master's degree in education or an equivalent related field; at least 3 years' successful experience teaching full-time in K-12 schools.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching in higher education. Experience supervising student teachers. Evidence of expertise in teaching language arts and/or math in K-12 schools.

Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.

Sedentary: work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
