Leer South Wolf Run Mining LLC is looking for a Longwall Operator to join our successful team in Philippi, West Virginia.

Job Title: Longwall Operator Grade: 39.35 hour Job Location: Leer South Mining Complex, Philippi, WV

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areas.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of mine management and co-workers.
• Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
• Requires being responsible and dependable while fulfilling work obligations.
• Requires attention to detail and must be thorough in completing work tasks.
• Establish and maintain personally challenging achievement goals.
• Must comply with company and mine policies regarding Absenteeism, Personal Conduct, and Harassment, as well as all policies, standards, and expectations as outlined by mine management.
• Must comply with regulatory agencies including MSHA and state regulatory agencies.
• Must ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible manner.
• Must be able to properly operate all longwall face equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Minimum of three years of underground mining experience.
• Experience as a production operator in Longwall coal mining.
• WV underground certification required or equivalent time to test for certification.
• Must have experience navigating the above-mentioned longwall equipment through adverse geology conditions.
• Must have experience maintaining the longwall face alignment and proper mining horizon.
• Must be able to work as scheduled and assigned.
• Must be able to work safely and effectively as a part of a team.
• Must be able to perform heavy work as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, which may include but not limited to lift, carry, pull, push, climb, shovel, walk, or pry. Physical demands of the job are subject to change based on industry demands.
• Must be able to work on/near moving equipment as required by job.
• Must be able to understand and grasp mining concepts and safety strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
