Legacy Systems Support Engineer
Summary
We are seeking a Support Engineer for a legacy minicomputer system (Data General/DG) alongside a secondary Oracle Forms-based system; work will be split roughly 20 hours/week between the two platforms.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1-3 production support for a legacy minicomputer system (day-to-day troubleshooting, batch job failures, account/configuration changes).
- Perform routine back-end maintenance and data changes (e.g., configuration updates tied to business rule changes).
- Support and eventually maintain an Oracle Forms/PL-SQL application as the legacy system is phased out.
- Participate in incident response for system outages as needed.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Data General, AS/400, mainframe, or comparable minicomputer technology.
- Familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL.
- Comfortable working independently in an older, undocumented technical environment.
Preferred
- Prior experience supporting legacy/EOL systems in a production environment.
- Oracle Forms experience.
This is a 6-month Contract opportunity with extensions possible with our Overland Park, KS client. There is also a part-time position available as well.
