    Description

    Shulman Rogers seeks a Legal Administrative Assistant to join its Landlord-Tenant practice group within the Litigation Department at the Firm's Potomac office. This position will play a central role in providing comprehensive administrative support to the group.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Handle electronic filing (e-filing) and service of court documents in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC and Virginia.
    • Prepare and maintain template documents and files. 
    • Coordinate with clients, court personnel, and other parties involved in litigation.
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, and other appointments.
    • Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, litigation dates and reminders.
    • Assist accounting, clients, and attorneys with invoicing questions.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • 5+ years of administrative or secretarial support experience in a litigation department or practice.
    • E-filing of pleadings in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC and Virginia.
    • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    • Knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and court rules related to litigation.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort and skill in speaking with clients.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with particular expertise in Microsoft Word; experience with document management software (iManage preferred) and other litigation software.
