You are looking for a role where you can continue building your legal skills, stay with a firm long enough to become truly valuable, and grow into more advanced paralegal responsibilities.You are interested in building a legal assistant/paralegal career and contributing to the firm over a period of years.You will be most successful in this role if you enjoy working in a small office where initiative, flexibility, good judgment, and a willingness to help wherever needed truly matter.Key ResponsibilitiesCommunicate with clients, courts, professionals, and other contacts by phone and emailPrepare, organize, and file pleadings, correspondence, and legal documents under attorney supervisionAssist with estate planning, elder law, guardianship, and probate mattersManage calendar items, deadlines, appointments, and remindersConduct new client intakes and help maintain a positive client experience from first contact forwardMaintain client files, organize documents, and track case-related informationLocate client records, contact professionals, and gather information needed for client mattersServe as a notary and witness for legal documents, or become willing to do so if not already commissionedOccasional off-site support as needed (e.g. home visit to elderly clients)Support office systems, organization, and workflow so the firm runs smoothly and clients are served wellWhat You Will BringAt least 1 year of legal office experience preferred, although the firm is open to a strong candidate with less experience who shows excellent aptitude, maturity, and follow-throughInterest in developing as a legal assistant or paralegal, with potential to grow into probate paralegal responsibilitiesStrong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlinesExcellent written and oral communication skillsWelcoming, professional, and client-focused demeanorAbility to juggle multiple priorities and stay steady when the office is busyProficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and general comfort learning legal technologyFamiliarity with legal procedures, court filings, probate, guardianship, elder law, or estate planning is helpfulHigh school diploma required.
