Legal Assistant
Buffalo, New York

Insero Talent Solutions is partnering with a well-respected, full-service law firm in their search for a Legal Assistant to support attorneys within its litigation and corporate practices groups. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys, clients, courts, and business professionals while providing critical administrative and legal support on a variety of matters.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional environment. This role requires discretion, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys practicing in litigation and corporate law.
  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and format correspondence, pleadings, agreements, discovery materials, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with state and federal court filings, ensuring compliance with applicable filing procedures and deadlines.
  • Manage attorney calendars, monitor critical dates, schedule meetings, depositions, and client conferences, and coordinate travel arrangements when needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other external contacts.
  • Open and maintain client matters, prepare engagement documentation, and assist with billing, expense tracking, and matter management activities.
  • Organize, maintain, and update electronic and physical client files and records.
  • Assist with document production, discovery management, exhibit preparation, and closing binders.
  • Coordinate transactional and administrative processes, including wire transfers and document execution.
  • Track project status, monitor deadlines, and assist attorneys with workflow management.
  • Prepare reports, gather information from attorneys and clients, and support various practice group initiatives.
  • Handle a variety of general administrative functions, including time entry, expense reports, mail processing, and document management.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree preferred; bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting attorneys in a law firm or legal department environment.
  • Prior experience supporting litigation, corporate, transactional, or business law practices is preferred.
  • Familiarity with court filing procedures, legal terminology, and document preparation standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proofreading abilities with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience working with document management systems and legal technology platforms.
  • Familiarity with e-discovery tools and document review platforms is a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and client service excellence.
