TempExperts is hiring on behalf of a boutique Estate Planning and Probate law firm seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant. This fin office position offers flexible part-time hours with the opportunity to grow into a larger role. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable supporting a fast-paced legal team.

Position Summary:
The Legal Assistant will provide direct support to one attorney while collaborating with paralegals and the office manager. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver professional, compassionate service to clients.

Responsibilities:
• Assist with probate and trust administration files, including gathering financial, legal, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and format legal documents such as pleadings, notices, service lists, orders, subpoenas, and fee petitions from drafts or dictation.
• Support the preparation and proofreading of estate planning documents.
• Draft, edit, and manage correspondence including letters, memoranda, and client communications.
• Transcribe dictation and edit handwritten materials as needed.
• Maintain and update client records and case files within the firm’s database.
• Open new client files and assist with conflict checks.
• Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and track deadlines.
• Scan, file, and organize documents following execution and client meetings.
• Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and external contacts via phone and email.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and firm information.
• Provide general administrative support as needed.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a law firm required; experience in estate planning or probate strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn new legal software quickly.
• Experience with legal systems such as Westlaw, form builders, or case management tools is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a remote environment.
• Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and client-focused mindset.
• Ability to pass a background screening.
