The Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorneys Office is responsible for prosecuting all adult and juvenile felony cases referred by county law enforcement agencies, and all misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor cases referred by the county sheriff, the State Patrol, all state agencies, and some cities who have contracted with the county for misdemeanor prosecution services.

The salary for this position is non-negotiable. The successful applicant will earn the minimum salary, with yearly pay increases until the maximum salary in the pay range is reached.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Employees receive general supervision from a supervisor and/or an administrative superior as assigned. Assignments are made by indicating generally what is to be done, the quantity of work expected and any deadlines, which are to be met. Employees carry out recurring assignments on their own initiative and receive additional, specific instructions for new or unusual assignments. Work may be checked to ensure timely completion and accuracy. Work is evaluated through conferences, periodic reviews and written evaluations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work is performed in an office environment. Criminal Division only - may work on cases containing violent or sexual subject matter.

Do you have one (1) year of legal assistant 1 (legal secretary) experience, or any equivalent combination of training and/or secretary / legal assistant experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities? Equivalent may be a paralegal certificate/degree, criminal justice degree, or legal office assistant certificate/degree, or other related work experience or education. If so, please explain how you satisfy this requirement.

The Legal Assistant 1 role requires proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), Adobe Pro, and the ability to learn new software systems. Describe your experience with these tools and give an example of how you used them in a previous job.

Describe, in detail, your experience collecting, organizing, documenting, and tracking of discovery documents and digital media. Additionally, discovery may need to be redacted before release; describe any experience you have with redaction. If you have not done redaction before, explain how you would approach learning this responsibility.
