At AMH, our goal is to simplify the experience of leasing a home through professional management and maintenance support, so our residents can focus on what really matters to them, wherever they are in life.The **Legal Assistant** provides essential administrative support to the legal department and attorneys, including compliance, legal documentation maintenance, meeting coordination, and corporate records management.**Responsibilities:*** Maintain reporting information and documentation for the Legal Department and Company, including confidential and time-sensitive matters.* Support AVPs, VPs, and SVPs in the legal department with invoicing, correspondence, compliance, tracking sheets, contracts, and calendaring.* Prepare meeting materials and coordinate meetings.* Serve as the Company point of contact for Service of Process and legal mail; track and log receipt of legal documents and disseminate mail to appropriate departments.* Maintain record storage, filing, and binders for the Legal Department.**Requirements:*** High school diploma or GED required.* Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, or a related field preferred.* Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting Executive or Senior Staff required.* Experience in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred.* Prior experience in a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) or public company environment is highly desirable.* Current Notary Public appointment preferred, or willingness to obtain within six (6) months of employment.* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) required.* Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, planning, and analysis skills.* Capable of meeting multiple deadlines, maintaining confidentiality, implementing process improvement changes, working in a team environment, paying close attention to details, and adapting to a changing environment.CompensationThe anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $27.42 to $34.28 Hourly.
