    Description

    Talis Group’s company client, a Lexington, KY law firm is hiring a Legal Assistant to support their business, finance, trust and estate practice group. This is a full time position Monday through Friday 8:30am-5pm. This position will support two partners and one associate. Full benefits package available including paid parking, health insurance, and more. Discretionary bonus available.

    Highlighted Duties:

    • Maintain calendars and closing schedules.
    • Coordinate due diligence; collecting files, tracking deadlines, and organizing reports. Prepare & draft legal documents specific to the service group.
    • Maintain accurate indexing, filing, and organization of legal documents in both physical and electronic formats
    • Assist attorneys with monthly billing, invoicing, expense reports and reimbursements each month.
    • Prepare and file UCC financing statements, entity formation, governance documents, and Secretary of State filings as needed
    • Obtain asset and personal information necessary for estate and trust administration.
    • Assist with the transfer of assets to beneficiaries in accordance with testamentary documents and applicable court orders.
    • Maintain financial records and account activities of estates and trusts.
    • Assist in drafting basic documents including wills, power of attorneys, living will directives and HIPAA authorizations.
    • Coordinate meetings/activities, receipt and transmittal of correspondence with clients, co-fiduciaries, attorneys, and other intermediaries.

    Highlighted Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred. Associate degree in business administration, paralegal studies, accounting, finance, or related field considered.
    • 3+ years of experience supporting business, estate planning, trust services, finance, corporate, or commercial transactions in a law firm or similar environment.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and client service skills.
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and AdobeAcrobat.
    • Experience with i-Manage, SharePoint, OneDrive, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and trust/estate accounting or tax preparation software desired.
