RoleWe are seeking a Legal Assistant to support the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Connecticut. Witness Support:Receive visitors and respond to fact witness questions about appearances, travel, and reimbursementContact fact witnesses to confirm appearance details, explain travel arrangements, and identify support needsNotify the Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) of special circumstances or witness needs that require attentionMeet fact witnesses upon arrival, provide courtroom orientation, and accompany them to courtII. Travel & Reimbursement:Gather and organize the information and documentation needed to arrange witness travel, lodging, and reimbursementCoordinate witness travel and lodging in accordance with DOJ and USAO proceduresPrepare special authorization documents and obtain approvals before arranging travelCollect required forms, signatures, and supporting documentation for witness reimbursementPrepare and submit witness vouchers and reimbursement documents, and provide status updates as requestedGather supporting documentation and reconcile Government Travel Accounts related to witness travel activityIII.
