Agency Description
The Board of Ethics is an independent body that administers and enforces the City's ethics, campaign nance, and lobbying laws. The Board's mission is carried out by a dedicated team of approximately fourteen sta members, including attorneys and compliance professionals. The Board's sta carries out the day-to-day functions of the Board, subject to the Board's oversight. General Counsel sta provides advice, training, and compliance assistance to City workers, candidates, lobbyists, businesses, and City residents.
Compliance sta supports the Board's disclosure and ethics programs through ling assistance, compliance communications, and outreach to lers. Enforcement sta investigates and prosecutes violations of the City's campaign nance and lobbying laws, nancial disclosure requirements, conict of interest rules, political activity restrictions, and other ethics rules.
General Counsel sta is a team of ve attorneys. In addition to serving as the Board's principal legal advisor, the team's work includes reviewing and updating ethics regulations, providing informal and formal advice on the City's ethics laws, conducting ethics training, advising the Board and its Hearing Ocer in adjudications of administrative enforcement matters, and maintaining and updating key legal and policy documents and educational materials

Position Summary
The Oce of the General Counsel of the Board of Ethics is seeking a Legal Assistant to support the work of General Counsel sta. The Legal Assistant will coordinate the administrative and logistical aspects of team's work on administrative enforcement proceedings, drafting and promulgation of Board regulations, training, and informal advice. The Legal Assistant will also be responsible for drafting and maintaining correspondence, acting as a point of contact for scheduling and advice requests, drafting procedural orders, and organizing and managing both electronic and paper les.

Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree strongly preferred, high school diploma or equivalent (GED) considered with 4+ years of relevant experience. A degree in paralegal studies from an ABA-approved program is a plus. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an oce setting. Experience in the legal, social service, education, or non-prot sectors preferred.
