What Youll Do:
As a Law Student Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our in-house legal team, providing valuable support on various projects and gaining practical experience in a dynamic legal environment. You will have a primary assignment to Lubrizol's commercial legal and litigation teams. As time permits, you will have an opportunity work with the ethics and compliance teams. You will also collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.
What Were Looking For:
Interest in understanding all aspects of a company's legal function, and why adherence to ethical standards and compliance with laws is essential to a company's success
Assist the commercial and litigation teams with contract review and analysis, legal research and other special projects
Draft and review memoranda, reports and PowerPoint presentations
Work on intellectual property matters, including the enterprise rationalization of a complex portfolio of chemical patents, trade secrets, and know-how innovative initiatives to monetize such property through licenses and royalties
Oversee sales agents and other intermediaries in high-risk countries; development and presentation of ethics and compliance training; compliance risk assessments; and creation of policies and procedures. Substantive projects will be assigned on a variety of topics
Assist with internal investigations, which may require legal and other research as well as review of financial records
Collaborate with other members of the legal team, and we will also seek opportunities for the intern to meet with, and present to, executive leadership
Skills That Make a Difference:
Currently enrolled as a second or third-year law student Case Western Reserve University
Ability to work onsite 20-40 hours per week during summer 2026 semester
Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in commercial, litigation, and compliance areas of law
Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills
Proficiency in legal research tools and databases
Detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and contribute
