The ALTO Legal Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Operations Team through administrative responsibilities, research, and development of legal solutions for ALTO's clients' crime and public safety challenges. The ALTO Legal Coordinator is also responsible for supporting Staff Attorneys in managing clients' criminal investigations and cases in their local metro areas. This is a hands-on, multi-tasking role that requires in-person representation as a client victim advocate in law enforcement and prosecutor meetings and criminal proceedings.This position requires incumbents to exercise well developed communication and legal skills and act independently under the general oversight and direction of ALTO Staff Attorneys and Operations Managers. Legal Coordinator - Market LocationAttends criminal court hearings and reports court activity to Operations Manager, victims, and Alto's leadership.Acts as a victim advocate and confers with victims, witnesses, law enforcement officers, and prosecutors regarding the rights and wishes of represented victims when requested by the Operations Manager.Advises victims and corporate employers regarding criminal and courtroom procedures and case handling with the support of the legal team.Assists in coordination of witness courtroom attendance needs.Prepares bail and sentencing recommendation documents for submission on behalf of crime victims.Assists in the relationship building and on-going interaction with local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors that belong to the ALTO Alliance program.Schedules and coordinates Law Enforcement Partnership meetings for the stores on their district.Makes retail client visits as necessary.Provide Legal updates and support to their assigned storesKeeps Legal Management systems updatedOther legal and broader business responsibilities as assigned by the Operations ManagerMinimum Position QualificationsExperience in one more of the following: Criminal Law Legal Assistant/Legal Coordinator for 1+ YearBachelor's degree (Preferred but not required) with a criminal justice/legal focusExperience with documentation management such as case management software/systems, maintaining contact and data entry/input and alike, is preferred.Brings great attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills, as they support Attorney(s) and help with legal issues.Ability to work collaboratively and independentlyMust be able to prioritize and accomplish objectives in a timely mannerAbility to work varied work hours to meet client needs, including nights and weekends as neededExcellent presentation/communication skillsStrong organizational skills and document management skillsProficiency using computers, computer databases and Microsoft OfficeStrong research and writing skillsDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving skillsA valid driver's license and reliable transportationLicense: A valid Class C Driver License of the place of employment state or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to perform job-related essential functions.Other BenefitsBasic Health, Dental, Vision & Insurance coverage 60 days after start of employment3 weeks of paid vacation (eligible for 5 days after the first 6 months)6 days paid sick time (each year)12 Holidays (including one floating)1 day of paid time off to volunteer in your communityMileage reimbursement per IRS guidelinesRetirement Savings – 401K plus employer matchingInnovative work environment in a multi-national companyThe employer is an "equal opportunity employer."
