Legal Counsel

As Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in providing expert legal advice and guidance on various matters within the CPG/ retail industry. This role will focus on managing contracts, providing broad legal counsel to the business, and addressing legal risks while supporting business objectives.

Description

Varied responsibilities in this role as Legal Counsel include:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provide legal advice and support on regulatory compliance and risk management.
• Identify and mitigate potential legal risks across the business.
• Support intellectual property matters, including trademarks and copyright issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address legal concerns and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Manage external legal counsel as needed for specialized legal matters.
• Stay current on changes in laws and regulations affecting the CPG industry.
• Assist in dispute resolution and litigation management when necessary.

Profile

The successful Legal Counsel should have:

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to practice law in the US (ideally NY State Bar).
• Experience with legal matters in the CPG, retail, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of contract law and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
