Position: Partner & General Counsel - Legal Domain Expert Type:Contract Compensation:$100–$150/hour Location:Hybrid, Bay Area, California Commitment:40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
Evaluate the quality of legal knowledge work tasks and AI model outputs. Identify missing behaviors and thin reasoning in professional scrutiny.
Design high-quality instruction specs and produce golden solutions to legal problems. Define new legal tasks reflecting real-world practices.
Develop challenging legal tasks and evaluation sets. Build legal-specific skills and tools with the research team.
Collaborate with client researchers and specialists in adjacent fields. Translate tacit legal judgment into explicit, teachable criteria.
Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.
Qualifications
Must-Have
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
5+ years of substantive post-qualification legal practice.
Specialization in at least one substantive practice area.
Progression to a senior level with real ownership of matters.
Active admission to at least one U.S. state bar, in good standing.
Hands-on working use of large language models.
Commitment to 40 hours/week for 6 months.
Reside in the Bay Area, California and work on-site as required.
Excellent written communication skills.
