ResponsibilitiesSupport lawyers in the Firm's legal departments, as a part of legal support team modelAssist attorneys in the litigation department in all phases of litigation including motion practice, discovery, trial and post-trialAssist with accurately editing and formatting of documents/pleadings, including motions and supporting memoranda, subpoenas, deposition notices, discovery requests and responses, affidavits, answers and agreementsPreparing and processing electronic filings in federal and state courtAssist in all phases of pre-trial activities including preparation of witness binders, organizing trial exhibits and coordinating depositionsMaintain and organize the case filesMonitor docket calendar and coordinate service of filingsMaintain attorney calendars by planning and scheduling meetings, teleconferences, and travel arrangementsCoordinate attorney travel schedules, transportation, and accommodationsProvide excellent telephone coverage, manage high call volume, and distribute messages in a timely and appropriate mannerBuild client relationships by courteously communicating with clients and co-workersWork as part of a secretarial team and provide assistance to attorneysAssist in day-to-day duties such as faxing, filing, copying, messenger service, etc.Demonstrate the highest level of confidentiality with client and attorney informationPrepare expense reports via Chrome River system and submit as appropriateEnter attorney time and review entries in IntappLiaise with Client Operations team for Partner billing mattersPrepare correspondence, client materials, and presentation materialsOther projects and duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's DegreeMinimum of 5 years of administrative legal experience working within a litigation practice.Comprehensive knowledge of the litigation practice, including e-filing in local and state courts; federal filing experience requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), comfort with technology and ability to learn programs/softwareSelf-starter, extremely organized and detailed-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracyMaintain composure in high-pressure situations and a fast-paced, multi-authority environmentMulti-task and manage priorities effectivelyDiscretion when dealing with confidential mattersExceptional follow-up and follow-through skillsAvailable to work overtime as neededThis position will require physical presence in Proskauer's offices on a regular basis (at least 4x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $60,000 - $100,000.
