Our client in Houston, Texas is seeking a Legal Operations Coordinator for a Direct Hire opportunity. This position will work primarily in office with one work from home day per week.
Client ProfileOur client is a well established law firm seeking an experienced Legal Operations Coordinator to support the day to day operational functions of its Legal Operations Department. This position will serve as an extension of the Director of Legal Operations and work closely with legal support teams and firm leadership. The ideal candidate will bring law firm experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate workflows, staffing needs, processes, and administrative initiatives across the firm.
Legal Operations Coordinator RoleCoordinate and support daily workflows across the Legal Operations Department
Assist with staffing coordination, workload distribution, coverage needs, and departmental process administration
Maintain operational trackers, calendars, reporting tools, and departmental documentation
Monitor workflow and operational concerns and escalate issues appropriately to the Director of Legal Operations
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding logistics for legal support personnel
Coordinate training schedules and ensure operational follow up items are completed
Assist with PTO administration, scheduling, and coverage coordination
Support departmental reporting and communication initiatives
Assist with Legal Operations projects and process improvement initiatives
Collaborate with legal support teams, Human Resources, firm leadership, and other departments
Handle sensitive personnel and operational information with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Perform additional duties in support of the Legal Operations Department as needed
Legal Operations Coordinator Background Profile:3+ years of relevant law firm experience required
Previous legal support experience strongly preferred
Experience that extends beyond traditional attorney support into workflow coordination, staffing, operations, process administration, or support of firm leadership
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Experience coordinating across teams, departments, or office locations preferred
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive personnel information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with employees at all levels of the firm
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with legal technology such as document management, case management, or billing systems
Bachelors degree preferred
Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant law firm experience considered
High school diploma or equivalent may be considered with 5+ years of directly relevant law firm administrative experience
