Join our team as a Lead Legal Operations.Job SummaryThe Legal Operations Lead will have responsibility in the following primary areas: (i) legal technology and systems, (ii) process improvement, (iii) knowledge and matter management systems, (iv) vendor and financial management, and (v) metrics and reporting for the Legal Department. The individual in this role must have excellent time management, project management, and communication skills to ensure the individual is able to effectively manage competing priorities and can drive complex projects involving stakeholders from all levels to completion. The ideal candidate will have: (i) extensive experience with legal billing and legal case management software, (ii) experience leading RFPs, negotiating fee arrangements, and monitoring vendor performance, (iii) expertise with defining and tracking key performance indications (KPIs) for legal operations.Job ResponsibilitiesLegal Technology & SystemsEvaluate, implement, and manage legal tech tools (e.g., e-billing, matter management, contract lifecycle management).Lead system integrations and ensure user adoption across the legal team.Maintain data integrity and reporting capabilities.Process Improvement & Project ManagementIdentify and implement process improvements to streamline legal operations.Lead cross-functional projects and change management initiatives.Develop and enforce best practices and standard operating procedures.Knowledge and Matter ManagementOversee knowledge management systems to ensure effective information sharing.Develop strategies for capturing institutional knowledge and legal precedents.Support matter intake and tracking processes.Vendor and Financial ManagementManage relationships with outside counsel and legal service providers.Lead RFPs, negotiate fee arrangements, and monitor vendor performance.Collaborate with Finance to manage legal budgets and track spend.Metrics and ReportingDefine and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for legal operations.Provide regular reports and insights to legal leadership.Use data to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent Required.Education SpecificationsBachelor's Degree PreferredExperience RequirementsTypically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experienceLegal operations-related experienceWorks independently with guidance in only the most complex situationsProven ability to prioritize, organize, and implement multiple complex projectsCritically evaluate information from multiple sources, ask questions, and reconcile differences to deliver effective guidanceAn ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and lead several projects in a dynamic and fast-paced work environmentThe ability to lead and work well in a team environmentA high level of integrity, excellent judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to identify all relevant issuesExcellent decision-making and critical thinking skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills (including good listening skills)Self-motivated with an unwavering commitment to excellence, accuracy, and qualityHarley-Davidson is an equal opportunity employer that continues to build a culture of inclusion, belonging and equity through our commitment to attracting and retaining diverse talent from all backgrounds, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
