Dykema Gossett, PLLC, a leading national law firm celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026, is recruiting to hire an experienced Legal Practice Analyst. This is an early-career position embedded in our Firm’s Knowledge & Innovation team, with a dedicated focus on transactional practice across M&A/corporate and real estate matters. This role sits at the intersection of legal practice and AI-driven innovation, and is designed for someone who thinks critically about how legal work gets done and wants to help make it better through technology.

The ideal candidate holds a law degree and brings direct experience with transactional legal work, whether through practice, a clerkship, or a law school clinic. A JD is preferred but not required; what is required is substantive legal knowledge and the intellectual curiosity to evaluate, advocate for, and help implement technology in a legal environment.  This is a fully remote position open to all Dykema office locations.

What You’ll Do

AI Strategy and Technology Identification

  • Serve as an active contributor to the firm’s AI-first technology strategy: researching the legal tech landscape, evaluating tools, and making informed recommendations on what to adopt, pilot, or deprioritize.
  • Assess AI and technology solutions through a transactional lens, with specific attention to M&A and real estate workflows including due diligence, contract analysis, deal management, and closing processes.
  • Conduct structured evaluations of new tools: testing functionality, assessing output quality, identifying limitations, and producing clear written assessments for leadership and attorney decision-makers.
  • Partner with the Manager, Process Innovation and the CKIO on technology roadmap planning and prioritization.

Attorney Training and Technology Adoption

  • Design and deliver training programs that enable attorneys to use new technology confidently and effectively, with an emphasis on practical, workflow-integrated instruction rather than feature overviews.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for attorneys during tool rollouts: answering questions, troubleshooting adoption challenges, and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Develop supporting materials for technology implementations: quick reference guides, workflow documentation, and adoption trackers.
  • Gather and synthesize attorney feedback on tool performance and usability; translate that feedback into actionable input for vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Support change management efforts by building relationships with attorney champions across transactional practice groups.

Implementation Support

  • Participate in tool implementation projects from evaluation through rollout: contributing legal and practice-specific expertise to configuration, testing, and launch phases.
  • Track implementation milestones, document decisions, and maintain project records with a high degree of organization.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school preferred; will consider candidates without a JD who have substantial legal experience in a transactional context.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of legal experience in M&A, corporate transactions, real estate, or a closely related area (law firm, in-house, or government).
  • Strong working knowledge of transactional concepts: deal structure, due diligence, contract negotiation, closing mechanics, and related documentation.
  • Genuine interest in legal technology and AI: you follow the space, have opinions about it, and want to be part of shaping how the firm uses it.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, particularly attorneys, with clarity and credibility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce polished deliverables independently.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office; comfort with legal research platforms (Westlaw, Lexis, or equivalent).
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, communicate proactively, and work effectively across teams.
  • Occasional travel required.

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted legal tools: contract review platforms, due diligence tools, generative AI applications in legal contexts.
  • Experience in knowledge management, legal operations, practice innovation, or legal tech in a law firm or legal department setting.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles or formal training design; experience delivering technology training to professional audiences.
  • Comfort with structured evaluation frameworks, vendor management processes, or technology procurement.
  • Familiarity with pricing, alternative fee arrangements, or project management frameworks in a legal context.

What Sets This Role Apart

This is not a traditional attorney track, and that’s the point. You’ll have direct access to firm leadership, exposure to strategy-level conversations, and real influence over how the firm’s transactional practices evolve through technology. For someone with a legal background who is energized by AI and wants to shape the future of legal work, this role offers a genuinely distinctive path.
