Bankruptcy / Commercial Litigation Secretary
Location: Downtown Los Angeles - Fully in office role
LHH is assisting a well-established Southern California law firm in its search for a Bankruptcy / Commercial Litigation Secretary to support a busy litigation practice. This position is part of a collaborative legal support team and will play a critical role in managing active commercial litigation matters and providing day-to-day support to attorneys handling complex cases.
Role Overview
The Bankruptcy / Commercial Litigation Secretary will support attorneys through all phases of litigation, helping ensure matters move efficiently and deadlines are met. This individual will work closely with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail.
Key responsibilities may include:
Preparing, formatting, proofreading, and filing pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
Managing attorney calendars, court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial schedules
Coordinating state and federal court filings
Supporting document production, case management, and file organization
Monitoring litigation deadlines and ensuring compliance with court rules
Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel
Assisting with trial preparation and other litigation support functions

Annualized Salary $90,000- $110,000

Candidate Requirements
At least 3 years of litigation legal secretary experience
Commercial litigation experience strongly preferred
Bankruptcy experience is a plus but not required
Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures and filing requirements
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems
Ability to manage a high-volume workload and competing deadlines
High school diploma required; additional legal education or certifications preferred
