Description We are looking for a Legal Secretary to support attorneys handling litigation matters in Seattle, Washington. This role is ideal for someone who can keep case activity organized, prepare legal paperwork with precision, and coordinate deadlines across multiple matters. The successful candidate will serve as a reliable point of contact for attorneys, clients, and external parties while maintaining strict confidentiality and strong administrative control.
Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys with day-to-day litigation administration and help keep case progress on track across active matters.
- Draft, revise, and finalize legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and clear correspondence with close attention to accuracy and formatting.
- Submit court filings electronically and monitor requirements to ensure documents meet applicable state and federal filing rules and deadlines.
- Maintain attorney calendars by scheduling hearings, depositions, meetings, and trial-related commitments while tracking critical due dates.
- Assist with discovery by organizing records, monitoring document production, and helping manage materials needed for review and response.
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, service providers, and internal teams in a confidential and respectful manner.
- Keep case files current in both digital and paper formats and ensure documents are stored accurately within document management systems.
- Take dictated content and convert it into well-prepared legal documents and correspondence as needed. Requirements - Prior experience in a legal secretary or legal administrative support role, preferably within a litigation environment.
- Working knowledge of electronic filing procedures and court submission requirements.
- Ability to manage calendars, deadlines, and multiple priorities with strong organizational skills.
- Experience preparing and proofreading legal documentation with a high level of accuracy.
- Familiarity with discovery support, case file maintenance, and document tracking practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Proficiency with dictation, standard office software, and legal document management tools.
